Brigitte van Hagen - creative director
Brigitte van Hagen is a Dutch soprano based in Amsterdam. Alongside a successful career in classical music she searches for new sounds and social meaning in music and other art forms. She has collaborated with a diverse range of artists such as Children of the Light, Daan Roosegaarde, Sibyl Heijnen and Minyeshu, melting together different art forms resulting in installations, recordings and live-performances.
Since 2020 she is a creative director at House of Makers where she initiates and directs new interdisciplinary projects. She is aware of the times we live in and responds or reflects through the creation of new work. She encourages the audience to be active and invites them to experience art from more than one perspective.
Peter Leung - FOunding & creative director
is a choreographer, stage director and concept developer. He received his dance training at The Royal Ballet School. Over the last years, Peter has been building an oeuvre of choreographic work which breaks down classical barriers. He has directed the Johannes-Passion for the Ij Salon and the International Bach Festival, and co-directed Dutch National Opera & Ballet’s annual International Young Patrons Gala. Peter is British.
Matthew Pawlicki-Sinclair - founding & creative director
Matthew is a choreographer, teacher and collaborator. He is a former Soloist with Oregon Ballet Theatre, Grand Sujet with Dutch National Ballet, and dancer with Kansas City Ballet.
As a choreographer Matthew has created pieces for Oregon Ballet Theatre 2, Ballet Northwest and a number of works for New Moves, the Dutch National Ballet's young choreographers program. Maggie Foyer has written his work is “Multi-layered and multi-textured...characterised by confident, mature movement ideas and an interesting juxtaposition of the groups” and his pieces have been taken into the repertoire to be performed by Dutch National Ballet at the Lowlands Festival. He is currently a teacher at Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts, a department of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
Sterre van Rossem - Founding & creative director
Sterre is a storyteller and a connecter. She brings together disciplines and people through all manners of texts. While studying Literature at University of Amsterdam, she co-founded the student association Fabula Rasa (still thriving) and a sister magazine Pre-Fab. In 2010 she published a book of short stories with Prometheus while finishing her Master's Degree Cultural Analysis at UVA. She co-founded a writers collective called De Jagers with writer Eva Meijer and organised interdisciplinary readings and performances through-out The Netherlands.
In 2012 she co-founded House of Makers. She’s native in both Dutch and English and works as a creative copywriter. For House of Makers she writes fiction, prose, poetry, and creative concepts. Sterre was Head of Content of the cultural magazine PUPMAG, Head Editor of Opera Forward (the cultural platform of the Dutch National Opera), and a cultural editor for Vogue. Currently, she focuses on content with a positive environmental and emancipatory impact.
